Volodymyr Zelenskyy, then 17, joined the team of a local comedy competition called KVN. He was soon given the opportunity to play for Ukraine’s team Zaporizhia-Kryvyi Rih-Transit. This team competed in the KVN Major League and won in 1997.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy founded the Kvartal 95 team the same year. From 1998 to 2003, this team competed in the Major League and was the highest-earning team in Ukraine’s KVN League. The team spent a lot of time in Moscow and toured in post-Soviet countries on a regular basis.
