Virat Kohli Hails M S Dhoni Innings

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli praised MS Dhoni as the “best finisher” after the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain helped his team reach the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 final on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium (October 10). In Qualifier 1, CSK upset Delhi Capitals by four wickets, with Dhoni returning to form with a much-needed 18 from six balls.

The India captain said Dhoni’s performance against the Delhi Capitals made him ‘leap out of his seat with joy.

“And Tonight’s episode made me leap out of my seat once more. “@msdhoni,” Kohli wrote on Twitter.

Dhoni also accept it was an important innings

Mahendra Singh Dhoni walks the talk when he describes having a clean mind while finishing for Chennai Super Kings, which he did with aplomb against Rishabh Pant led Delhi Capitals on Sunday to propel his team to a record eighth IPL final.

In a successful chase of 173, Dhoni hit 18 off six balls to guarantee CSK’s comfortable journey into the final versus DC.

“Because I hadn’t done much in the competition, I wanted to look for the ball and see what the bowler could do.” In the nets, I was batting well. But I wasn’t thinking too much, because if you think too much when batting, you mess up your plans,” Dhoni stated at the end of the match. He applauded DC for bowling brilliantly and making full use of the large boundaries.

Dhoni stated that he kept his conversations with the team’s star batter, Ruturaj Gaikwad, basic. “Whenever Ruturaj and I talk, it’s a straightforward conversation. I’m curious what he was thinking. It’s encouraging to see how far he’s come. “He’s willing to bat 20 overs,” he remarked.

Dhoni stated that he promoted Shardul Thakur to No. 4 to see if he can get a couple of boundaries that can make a difference when the gap between runs required and balls left is 15 to 20. “Both Shardul and Deepak have batted well. Unlike other top-order batters, he/she is permitted to take shots from first base.” It was because of this situation that he chose to send Robin Uthappa at No. 3 instead of Moeen Ali.

“Robin prefers to bat at the top, but Moeen has been outstanding at No. 3.” However, we have set up a situation in which either of them might bat at No. 3 depending on the situation and the opposition.”

Dhoni believes the experience they received after being knocked out of the playoffs last season benefited them this season, as seen by Ruturaj collecting 600-plus runs with one match remaining. “We didn’t make the playoffs for the first time last season.” But we only had 3-4 games remaining last season, and a lot of our batters took advantage of that. That is why we have made such a tremendous comeback this season.” DC captain Rishabh Pant was unhappy with the result but pledged to make a great recovery in the upcoming game.
