This year’s Miss Greece pageant has been fraught with controversy.

First, Rafaela Plastira, the presumed Greek representative, announced her withdrawal from the Miss Universe pageant to support Palestine. “I can’t pretend nothing happens when people fight for their lives in that area. It stings because I’ve been waiting for my dream to come true for years. I love all countries, but my heart belongs to the people fighting for their lives in Israel and Palestine, “She continued.

The organization then reacted by saying Plastira was never supposed to be a Greek Miss, but She was “the winner of the Star Hellas title in 2019, and it is the only title she was never supposed to represent her country in the Miss Universe pageant,” according to a post on Facebook by Giorgos Kouvaris, president of Star and Mr GS Hellas. Sofia Arapogianni is Greece’s official representative, he added.

On the other hand, it was reported that Katerina Kouvoutsaki, who could not compete due to health issues, was supposed to perform in place of Sofia Arapogianni. Sofia Arapogianni, as announced by Ora Antonia, will represent Greece at the Miss Universe pageant this year.
