Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado, better known as Sasha Banks in the ring, is a well-known American wrestler. She is currently signed to WWE and has competed against some of the most talented wrestlers.
She and Charlotte Flair were also the first women to win the Pro Wrestling Illustrated ‘Feud of the Year’ award. Sasha, who was born in Fairfield, California in 1992, has been a wrestling fan since he was a child.
She was enthralled by ‘All Japan Women’s Pro-Wrestling,’ which she had grown up watching. She won her first tag team match in January 2011 after beginning her training in 2008 at Chaotic Wrestling in Woburn, Massachusetts.
She won her first title, ‘The Chaotic Wrestling Women’s Championship,’ in December of the same year after defeating Alexxis Nevaeh. Sasha Banks became her ring name after signing a contract with WWE in August 2012.

Childhood and the early years
Sasha Banks was born on January 26, 1992, as Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado in Fairfield, California, in the United States. Her family is unknown, but she has a disabled brother who has autism and for whom she and her family spent a lot of time traveling to find schools and hospitals. Banks later stated that she treated her brother as if he were a second mother.
She later relocated to Boston, Massachusetts, where she studied online. Eddie Guerrero was a huge fan of hers. She grew up watching ‘All Japan Women’s Pro-Wrestling,’ a show she was enthralled by. She had a strong desire to train since she was ten years old. Her mother, on the other hand, disliked wrestling and did not want her to pursue it as a career.
She began her training at Chaotic Wrestling, an independent American wrestling promotion based in Woburn, Massachusetts, in 2008.
On October 1, 2010, she competed in her first match as Mercedes KV. She and Nikki Roxx competed in an intergender tag team match against Alexxis Nevaeh and Danny E. On October 22, he played his first singles match, which he lost to his opponent Danny E.
On January 7, 2011, she and Roxx won their first tag team match, defeating Alexxis and Mistress Belmont. She competed in singles matches for the rest of the year. She won the Chaotic Women’s Championship on December 2, 2011, when she defeated Alexxis in a ‘I Quit’ match.
She successfully defended the title against many of her own, including Luscious Latasha, Nikki Roxx, Alexxis Nevaeh, and Mistress Belmont, over the next year. On June 1, 2012, she retained the championship by defeating Alexxis, Barbie, and Mistress Belmont in a fatal four-way match, becoming the longest reigning Women’s Chaotic Wrestling Champion in history, breaking Alexxis’ previous record of 182 days.
The championship was declared vacant on August 18, following her 260-day reign, when she signed a contract with WWE.
She made her WWE NXT debut as Sasha Banks, her new ring name. Her first match was against Paige, and she was defeated.
Later, she became a character in a story after receiving letters from a secret admirer, who turned out to be Audrey Marie. She did, however, attack Banks on an episode of NXT because she was jealous of her success. This was followed by a duel between the two, which Banks lost.
The feud ended when Banks teamed up with Paige and defeated Marie and Summer Rae. She competed in the NXT Women’s Championship later that year, in June. She did, however, lose in the first round. Later, when the Championship became available, she competed in another tournament for him. She did, however, lose in the semifinals.
She won the NXT Women’s Championship in February 2015 after defeating Charlotte Flair in a Fatal Four-Way match. The following month, a rematch took place, and Banks successfully reclaimed the Championship from her by defeating Charlotte once more. Throughout the year, she successfully defended her title against a number of opponents, including Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch. In July, she and Charlotte fought again, and this time Banks won again, retaining her title.
In August, after a 192-day reign, she lost her Championship to Bayley. Bayley defeated Banks and successfully defended her title in a rematch in September. It was Bank’s final NXT match.
Sasha Banks was a part of Stephanie McMahon’s ‘Women’s Revolution,’ which began in 2015. She teamed up with Naomi and Tamina Snuka to form Team B.A.D. Banks was defeated in her first triple threat match against Charlotte and Brie Bella. She later faced a slew of competitors, including Brie Bella, Alicia Fox, and Becky Lynch.
Later, as part of the 2016 WWE draught, she was drafted to the Raw brand. She faced Charlotte in her first match, which she won to win the WWE Women’s Championship for the first time. She lost the title to Charlotte after a 27-day reign. The Raw Women’s Championship was renamed.
Sasha Banks was a member of the Raw women’s team for Survivor Series in November 2016. Despite being eliminated by Natalya, her team went on to win the match. During the same month, Banks retained the Raw Women’s Championship by defeating Charlotte in a Falls Count Anywhere match.

Despite being one of WWE’s youngest wrestlers, Sasha Banks has accomplished a number of things. She has held the “Chaotic Wrestling Women’s Championship” once, the “NXT Women’s Championship” once, and the “WWE Raw Women’s Championship” three times.
