Jason Alexander, Britney Spears’ ex-husband, enters a guilty plea after being charged with stalking

Jason Alexander, Britney Spears’ ex-husband, has pleaded guilty after being arrested for stalking.

The 40-year-old, who was married to Spears for 55 hours in 2004, was arrested last week for allegedly violating a restraining order.

He was arrested and booked into the Williamson County Jail in Tennessee, where he was charged with violating an order of protection as well as aggravated stalking.

District Attorney General Kim Helper told TMZ on Monday (10 January) that Alexander had pleaded guilty to misdemeanour stalking on 4 January.

He will be on probation for just under a year, during which time he will be subjected to a mental health screening and random drug testing.

Alexander will be barred from contacting his female victim, and the nature of his relationship with her will remain unknown.

After exchanging vows at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas after a long night of partying, the couple famously married in less than three days.

Their brief marriage was ended a few days later after the court was told that the “Toxic” singer “lacked understanding of her actions.”

Spears later married musician Kevin Federline, with whom she had two sons, later that year. Spears is now engaged to actor and model Sam Asghari after the couple divorced in 2007.
