On September 29th, Gamla Bó hosted the Miss Universe Iceland 2021 beauty pageant. Twenty girls competed, but it was Elsa Gróa Steinórsdóttir, Miss Capital Region, who was deemed the most charming, and she won by a landslide vote this time.
She attended Snyrtiakademan and the Icelandic Commercial College. The 5 feet 9 inch model also works as a Flight attendant in the Iceland national flight service Flyplay, previously she was employed with WOW Air. She is also a Certified makeup artist. Elsa Gróa Steinórsdóttir is in a relationship with Elís Guðmundsson.
She has also taken part in Miss Tourism World 2019. She was born on 27th February 1994 and now she is 27 years old.

Elsa Gróa has competed in a number of beauty pageants, and this was her fourth time competing in Miss Universe. In 2015, she competed in Miss Iceland but did not place in the top three. Arna r Jónsdóttir, the reigning beauty queen, defended the title that year.
She also competed in the Miss Universe Iceland pageant the following year, finishing as the second runner-up.

She competed in the pageant again in 2017, finishing as the first runner-up. This time, she won the crown and will represent her country in the Miss Universe competition in Israel.
