Anketa Maharana (aka Apsara Rani) decided to become an actress at a very young age. She completed her schooling from a local private school in Uttarakhand. Later Apsara Rani completed her engineering from GIT College, Belgaum. During her college days she took part in beauty contest in Bangalore.
Apsara Rani made her feature film debut in R. Raghuraj’s romantic drama ‘4 Letters.’ She appeared alongside Eswar, Tuya Chakraborty, Posani Krishna Murali, Kausalya, and Vidyullekha Raman in an ensemble cast. She played Anupama, a sexy fashion design student, in one of the two female lead roles. Her vivacious performance was singled out by critics, who praised her screen presence.
