Amanda Torchia is among the 51 contestants who will be competing for Miss USA 2021 on November 29th.
Amanda Torchia’s purpose is to mentor and inspire Connecticut’s kids to forge their own pathways to success. Amanda was motivated to start her kids program, Educate to Create, after working in Early Childhood Education. She works with kids through her curriculum to inspire them to break through barriers and harness the power of education to achieve their goals.

She also campaigns for the equitable opportunity in education by supplying and fundraising for learning materials and resources to be distributed to some of Connecticut’s poorest school districts, allowing each child to succeed.
In her spare time, she is a Humane Society certified animal fosterer and likes learning Italian from her father, who is from Calabria, Italy. She feeds her artistic side by modelling for labels like Jovani, Terani Couture, and Tarik Ediz.

She is the first Afghan-American lady to be crowned Miss Connecticut USA. She has Afghan and Italian ancestors. Luca Melissa Torchia, her mother, is from Kabul, Afghanistan.
Her father is from the Italian province of Calabria. She is the creator of the Educate to Create youth initiative. She was a finalist in Miss New York Teen USA 2012, finishing in the top ten.
She was named Miss Connecticut USA 2021 on June 6, 2021, at the Hartford/Windsor Marriott Airport Hotel in Windsor, Connecticut. Born in 1996, She was 25 years old when she was crowned Miss Connecticut USA, representing Middlebury, Connecticut.
