A magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck Peru, causing buildings to shake in a dramatic video.
The epicentre of the quake, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), is about 28 miles north of Barranca.
It was at a depth of 80 kilometres, according to the report.
During the quake, the footage shows dust being thrown up as buildings swayed and loose bricks falling to the street.
According to the EMSC website, the quake was felt by people in neighbouring Ecuador.
The user wrote “A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.5 has struck in northern Peru, the #US Geological Survey said. While it is extremely strong, it was relatively deep, which usually reduces damage & casualties.”

Another user posted a video of the earthquake and wrote “An #earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 occurred in #Peru. The focus was located at a depth of 112 km. The epicenter was located at a distance of 37 km from the city of Barranca. Tremors were felt in #Peru, #Ecuador, #Colombia.”
