Swathi Reddy was born on 19th April 1987 during the rule of the former Soviet Union in the city of Vladivostok, located in the southernmost parts of Russia’s Far East. She was given the name Svetlana at first, but her name was subsequently changed to Swathi.
She finished her education at SFS High School in Visakhapatnam. When she was born, her father Siva Rama Krishna, an officer in the Indian Navy, was training as a submariner in the Soviet Union. Siddharth, her older brother, is her only sibling.
Her family relocated to Mumbai, and she spent most of her youth in the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam.
She relocated to Hyderabad when in 11th grade. She studied biotechnology at St. Mary’s College in Yousufguda, Hyderabad.
Career
After passing her EAMCET, she made her television debut at the age of 17 by hosting a show called Colours. Because to the strong reception, the show was prolonged and moved to a primetime position. She went on to host more than 150 programs. She made her feature film debut after finishing her first year of graduation.
Reddy made her acting debut in a supporting part. Danger, a Telugu film, was her debut supporting role. It garnered unfavorable feedback.
Her next film, Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule, was released in 2007. That movie was a smash hit. She made her debut as a female lead in her maiden Tamil film, Subramaniapuram, in 2008. She received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu and the Nandi Award for Best Actress for her performance in Ashta Chamma.
She made her Malayalam cinema debut with Amen, which was a huge success.
