Paulina Vega Dieppa (born January 15, 1993, in Barranquilla) is a Colombian model, presenter, and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Colombia 2013-2014 and Miss Universe 2014.
Vega is a businesswoman and the face of international brands such as BMW, Adidas, Falabella, and Pantene, to name a few. She is also an ambassador for Stop Hunger Now and has hosted the musical reality show A Different Level.

On January 15, 1993, she was born in Barranquilla. She is the granddaughter of tenor Gastón Vega and the daughter of cardiologists Rodolfo Vega and Laura Dieppa. She has seven siblings and is Shakira’s second cousin, as well as Ariadna Gutiérrez, Miss Colombia 2014-2015.
Elvira Castillo, her maternal grandmother, was Seorita Atlántico and was named the third national princess in the 1953 National Beauty Contest. On both her mother’s and father’s sides, Vega has German and French ancestors.

Vega attended the Karl C. Parrish and Alemán private schools in Barranquilla but completed her secondary education at the Andino-Deutsche Schule in Bogotá. She speaks Spanish, English, German, and French fluently. At the age of 19, she began studying Business Administration at Javeriana University, but she had to discontinue her studies due to her commitments as a beauty queen.
As part of her duties as Miss Colombia, Paulina competed in the 63rd Miss Universe pageant, which took place on January 25, 2015, in Doral, Florida. Vega was the favourite throughout the competition and emerged victorious from a field of 87 candidates from various nations and autonomous territories.
Paulina Vega attended the coronation nights of various host countries, including Indonesia, with Anindya Kusuma Putri as the winner, and Miss USA, with Olivia Jordan from Oklahoma as the winner, as responsible for having won Miss Universe.
During her reign, she travelled to 12 countries, including Indonesia, France, Italy, Canada, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Kazakhstan, China, India, and the Bahamas.
Paulina Vega was involved in both commercial and social activities. During her reign, she distinguished herself as one of the most popular Miss Universes, surpassing two million followers on Instagram, a social network with which she frequently visits and interacts.
Vega is Colombia’s second Miss Universe, following Luz Marina Zuluaga, Miss Universe 1958. Paola Turbay of Bogotá, Paula Andrea Betancourt of Amazonas, Carolina Gómez of Bogotá, Taliana Vargas of Magdalena, and Ariadna Gutiérrez of Sucre were the first six viceroys.
