Emily Ratajkowski Early Life and Career
Emily Ratajkowski’s parents relocated to California when she was five years old, and she grew up in San Diego. Balgley went on to become a professor at California State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, while John Ratajkowski taught art at Academia San Dieguito in Encinitas.
Emily Ratajkowski attended a magnet school where her father taught before enrolling at UCLA to study art in 2009. She dropped out of college after a year to focus on modelling, a career she began at the age of 14 when she signed a contract with the Ford Models agency.
One of her first projects was a photoshoot for Treats, an erotic art magazine.
Emily Ratajkowski signed with the Ford agency at the age of 14, but she continued her studies while balancing her career as an actress and model. She will not achieve fame until the photographer Tony Duran portrays her for various editorials and campaigns for the companies Forever 21 and Nordstrom.
Her name, however, became extremely popular after she appeared in the music video for Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” alongside T.I. and Pharrell Williams. A contentious ‘video clip’ because it came out ‘topless’ (another version was made, which was the one that was distributed given the censorship of the first work on different platforms).
Ratajkowski posed in a swimsuit for Sports Illustrated following the release of “Blurred Lines.” She made her runway debut on the Marc Jacobs runway during New York Fashion Week in the fall of 2015. She has also graced the covers of several magazines, including Cosmopolitan, British Glamor, and Marie Claire. She has done ad campaigns for DKNY and is an ambassador for Kérastase and Paco Rabanne Perfume.
In Gone Girl, Emily made her film debut as Andie, Ben Affleck’s character’s lover (2014). She landed the role after Affleck saw her in “Blurred Lines” and recommended her to director David Fincher.
Emily Ratajkowski was Zac Efron’s love interest in the 2015 film We Are Your Friends. She played a villain in Natalie Dormer’s In Darkness (2018); she also played Mallory, a model with low self-esteem in Amy Schumer’s I Feel Pretty (2018); and she travelled to Italy to appear in Aaron Paul’s thriller Welcome Home.
Emily married producer and actor Sebastian Bear-McClard on February 13, 2018. The couple has a son named Sylvester Apollo Bear. Ratajkowski is a supporter of the Planned Parenthood organization, for which she has appeared in several advertisements.
Rumours of Divorce
According to media sources, Emily Ratajkowski and her four-year producer spouse, Sebastian Bear-McClard, have divorced.
The announcement comes following reports that the pair, who married in 2018 after only a few weeks of dating, were having marital problems.
The model, actor, and novelist was recently seen in New York City without her wedding ring. Last week, the Instagram gossip account Deux Moi added fuel to the flames by posting a few cryptic tidbits about a model whose husband was unfaithful. Last week, Page Six cited an unnamed source who said the producer was cheating on Ratajkowski.
Ratajkowski did not reply quickly to a request for comment.
Sylvester Apollo, the couple’s one-year-old son, is their only child.
