This was confirmed by sources close to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). According to reports, Dravid has agreed to serve as Team India’s head coach. During the IPL final on Friday night, Dravid and the BCCI discussed this.

Dravid has been offered Rs 10 crore for the position, according to sources. They will also receive a bonus in addition to this. The salary of the current coach, Ravi Shastri, is Rs 8.5 crore. After the T20 World Cup, Dravid will take over. He will serve a two-year term.

The New Zealand team will visit India immediately following the T20 World Cup. During this time, the two teams will play three T20 matches and two Test matches. Dravid has also previously coached India’s A and Under-19 teams.

Good news for the Indian team

The news agency quoted a source as saying that Dravid is ready to take over as head coach, which could be bad news for Team India. New coaches will now be found to fill the remaining spots. Vikram Rathod, the current batting coach, will remain in his position. The Indian team is currently undergoing a period of transition, with new players joining the squad.

The newcomer has previously worked with Dravid, according to the source. This will also benefit Indian cricket, allowing the team to move closer to becoming champion.

Dravid is already the top pick.

Dravid was already the BCCI’s first choice for the position of coach. However, this required board secretary Jay Shah and president Sourav Ganguly to comfortably converse with and persuade Dravid.

However, the situation has now been resolved. Dravid also toured as the Indian team’s coach for the Sri Lanka series in July of this year. The ODI series was won by Team India. At the same time, he had to accept defeat in the Corona-affected T20 series.

Ganguly Convinced Dravid

According to the source, Dravid agreed after speaking with Jai and Sourav. Dravid always prioritizes Indian cricket. As a result, it was simple to persuade them. With his arrival, the Indian team should be able to reach new heights. Even Mhambrey can be appointed as bowling coach as a result of this.

Shastri’s term expires.

Actually, current coach Ravi Shastri’s and other supporting staff’s contracts will expire after the T20 World Cup. At the same time, Virat Kohli will step down as T20 captain. In such a case, the crisis over the team’s leadership in the home series against New Zealand following the World Cup will worsen. With this in mind, the Indian board is on the lookout for new options.

Shastri took over as head coach in 2017.

In 2017, Shastri was appointed as Team India’s head coach. Since July 2017, Team India has played 43 Tests, 72 ODIs, and 60 T20 matches under his leadership. Team India won 25 Tests out of 43, 51 One Day Internationals out of 72 One Day Internationals, and 40 Twenty20 Internationals out of 60 Twenty20 Internationals. During this time, Team India also won the Test series in Australia twice.
