Donna Dixon began her modelling career as a member of the prominent Wilhelmina Modeling Agency in New York. In 1976, she was crowned Miss Virginia USA, and in 1977, she was crowned Miss Washington D.C. World.

She made her acting début in the 1980s, co-starring with Tom Hanks in the situation comedy ‘Bosom Buddies.’ The show debuted on November 27, 1980, and lasted for two seasons.

Dixon appeared in the American comedy film ‘Doctor Detroit’ in 1983, alongside Dan Aykroyd, who eventually became her husband. Following two comedies, Dixon starred in ‘The Twilight Zone,’ an anthology science-fiction fantasy horror film released in 1983. Steven Spielberg produced the film, which was based on the novel of the same name. The picture was a commercial success, grossing $ 29.5 million against a $ 10 million budget.

She co-starred in the 1989 film ‘Speed Zone’ with her spouse. The plot of the film revolved around an illegal cross-country race. Dixon portrayed Tiffany, a clumsy Marilyn Monroe-esque actress. She appeared in another comedy picture, ‘Wayne’s World,’ in 1992, as one of the main character’s fantasy women.

In 1994, she appeared in the comedy-thriller film ‘Exit to Eden,’ alongside her husband Dan Aykroyd. Finally, in 1995, she appeared in the hit television series ‘The Nanny.’ Her husband appeared as a guest star on the show as well. Donna Dixon was born on July 20, 1957, in Alexandria, Virginia, in the United States. Earl Dixon was her father, and he ran a nightclub called ‘Hillbilly Heaven.’

She graduated from Groveton High School in 1975 and enrolled at George Washington University the following year. She never finished her degree because she dropped out to become a model. In college, she majored in anthropology.

She married her ‘Doctor Detroit’ co-star Dan Aykroyd in 1983, and the couple has three daughters: Danielle Aykroyd, Belle Aykroyd, and Stella Aykroyd.

Dan Aykroyd and Donna Dixon separated after 39 years of marriage but remain legally married. Their relationship is described as a ‘Loving Friendship.’
