Brooke Shields Family
She descended from the first settlers of Virginia in the United States, in the 16th century (the first member of her family was William Shields, an American pioneer).
She is the daughter of Francis Alexander Shields, a top Revlon executive, son of a famous tennis player Francis Xavier Shields and the Italian princess Donna Marina Torlonia di Civitella-Cesi. Her great-uncle was Prince Alessandro Torlonia, husband of the Infanta Beatriz de Borbón y Battenberg.
Her mother was María Theresa Schmonn, actress, former model and film producer. When she announced that she was pregnant, her father’s family offered her money to terminate the pregnancy; she got paid, but she reneged on the agreement and gave birth to her daughter. Her parents were married but divorced when she was only five months old.
Brooke Shields has two stepbrothers and three stepsisters.

She began her career at eleven months by participating in a spot for the Ivory soap brand. Growing up, she received piano, ballet, and horseback riding lessons. While she was attending high school in Haworth, New Jersey.

She entered Dwight Englewood High School in Englewood, New Jersey where she excelled in gymnastics and joined the cheerleading team.
