Padma Awards 2022: The government announced the Padma Awards on the eve of Republic Day. Padma Vibhushan will be awarded posthumously to late CDS Bipin Rawat. In addition to him, Kalyan Singh will be awarded the Padma Vibhushan posthumously.
Four celebrities have been awarded the Padma Vibhushan this time. Padma Bhushan awards have been given to 17 people, and Padma Shri awards have been given to 107 people.
Bipin Rawat, the country’s first CDS, died in December of last year. He was killed in a helicopter accident. The government will now honour his bravery by awarding him the Padma Vibhushan posthumously. Aside from them, the government will posthumously honour former UP Chief Minister and BJP veteran Kalyan Singh with the Padma Vibhushan this time. He, too, died last year as a result of ill health.

By the way, the government has this time respected the vaccine manufacturers. Padma Vibhushan is being awarded to Cyrus Poonawalla, Krishna Ela, and Sucharita Ela. Simultaneously, veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, and actor Vinay Banerjee will be awarded the Padma Vibhushan.
