Pooja Vijay, also known as Swasika, is an Indian actress, dancer, and television host. She is well known for her work in Malayalam films and television shows, but she has also appeared in a few Tamil and Telugu films.
Swasika rose to prominence on television as the titular character in the show ‘Seetha.’ The crowd adored her powerful chemistry with actor Shanavas Shanu. She is now the host of the women-centric show ‘Red Carpet.’ She also starred in the TV series ‘Manampole Mangalyam,’ which was cancelled.

Swasika was born Pooja Vijay to Vijayakumar (a Bahraini accountant) and Girija in Perumbavoor, Ernakulam, Kerala. Akash is her brother. She began dance lessons after completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in literature.

Her debut film was Sundarapandi’s Vaigai, a love drama in which her character was based on a real person. She next performed Rasu Madhuravan’s Goripalayam (2010), in which she played the second lead. When she acted in the film, she was still a student.
Her third film, Maithanam (2011), received favorable reviews from both reviewers and audiences.
In the film, she plays a country girl who “values culture and tradition.” In her next film, Kandadhum Kaanadhadum, directed by Seelan, she portrayed a “city-bred college girl.”
She made her Malayalam debut in Cinema Company (2012) and was the lead heroine in Prabhuvinte Makkal, directed by Sajeevan Anthikkad (2012). In the 2014 Tamil thriller Panduvam, she played a psychiatrist, a more modern character than in her previous roles in Tamil films.
She has also worked as a television anchor. She had a show on Jeevan TV in 2014. She later portrayed the lead in the Mazhavil Manorama television series Dhathuputhri. She has also appeared in some advertising.
Surya TV will air her upcoming TV series, My Marumakan. Chinthavishtayaya Seetha on Asianet soared to fame among Malayali audiences in 2017 and won various accolades. She is now starring in Seetha on Flowers, a sequel to the earlier film. She had agreed to a series Pranayini but afterwards declined.
