Childhood

Sharman Joshi

Sharman Joshi, an actor, was born in Mumbai on April 28, 1979, to a Gujarati family. He has been exposed to the acting environment since childhood. His father, Arvind Joshi, was a Gujarati theatre artist of the time.

In addition, his aunt, sister, and cousin are all involved in Marathi and Gujarati theatre. Sharman Joshi began acting to hone this inherited talent. The actor began his career as a theatre performer. During that time, he performed approximately 550 shows per year.

Career

Simultaneously, regarding Sharman Joshi’s film career, the actor debuted in Bollywood with the 1999 film ‘Godmother.’ Following that, he starred in the comedies Style Aur Excuse Me and Shaadi No. The actor was very upset in the early days of his career because of his poor comic timing. People slammed Sharman at the time, but his director, Shafi Inamdar, supported him. After about 50 performances of the play, the actor’s performance improved.

Even after appearing in Bollywood films, Sharman was unable to obtain the position he desired in Hindi cinema. Following that, he starred in the patriotic film Rang De Basanti. Along with Sharman, Aamir Khan, Sohal Ali Khan, and Kunal Kapoor appeared in this multi-starrer film. Following this, the actor established a distinct identity in Hindi cinema as a result of his outstanding comedy in the Golmaal series. The character of Sharman Joshi in the 2009 film 3 Idiots received widespread acclaim. Raju Hirani directed the film based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel Three Mistakes of My Life.

Sharman Joshi, who has received critical acclaim for films such as Rang De Basanti and 3 Idiots, was cast as the lead hero in Ferrari Ki Sawaari. Few people realize, however, that Sharman had to make a lot of papads to get this role. Actually, Sharman had to go through 40 auditions to get the lead role in the film, which was produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Personal and marital life

Sharman Joshi

In terms of personal life, Sharman married Prerna Chopra, the daughter of Bollywood’s well-known villain actor Prem Chopra. They have two sons, Vaaryan and Vihaan Joshi, and a daughter, Khyana.

Controversies

In an interview in 2018, he said that he was replaced by another actor when he requested a wage raise for the sequel to the Hindi film ‘Golmaal Fun Unlimited’ (2006).

He stated, “The producers “threw me out” of the Golmaal series when discussions to enhance my payment failed. I believe that the second portion will involve negotiations between managers and producers.
