Deonna Purrazzo Early Life

On June 10, 1994, Deonna Purrazzo was born in Livingston, New Jersey. She was raised in Jefferson Township along with her twin brother Dominick, New Jersey, and graduated from Jefferson Township High School.

She also received training at the Team Adams Training facility, as well as other training sessions. In 2015, she even competed in the Miss New Jersey USA pageant.

Purrazzo began her professional wrestling career in 2012, performing in several independent promotions before appearing in national advertising for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and Ring of Honor (ROH). She also participated in the Japanese promotion World Wonder Ring Stardom (Stardom).

She was announced to be a part of the independent show All In in 2018, while still under contract with ROH.

She later joined WWE and was assigned to the NXT brand. She was, however, released in 2020. Early career (2013-2015)

Purrazzo spent December 2012 training at the D2W Pro Wrestling Academy. She made her debut on December 6, 2013, at D2W Season’s Beatings 4, defeating Jana.

Purazzo made a comeback in 2014, competing in a D2W match won by Jessie Brooks on February 7. Throughout the rest of 2014, she competed in D2W singles matches against opponents such as Mrs. X, Eddy McQueen, Ashley Brielle, and Debbie Kane.

On January 2, 2015, she returned for D2W in a match won by Debbie Kane.

Queens of Combat (2015-2016)

Deonna made her Queens of Combat debut as a villain on November 29, 2015, losing to Candice LeRae in a four-way match against Heidi Lovelace and Barbi Hayden at Queens Of Combat 7.

She made a comeback on November 27, 2016, at Queens Of Combat 16, teaming up with Kelly Klein to defeat Faye Jackson and Miss Diss Lexia in a tag match.

Victory Pro Wrestling (2014-2015)

Purrazzo and Romeo Roselli won a mixed tag team match against Ashley Brielle and Damien Adams at VPW Carnage in Centereach IX on July 26. On April 11, 2015, she and Romeo Roselli won a mixed tag team match at VPW, defeating Ashley America and Damian Adams. Purrazzo wrestled for the vacant VPW Women’s Championship against Nikki Addams, Ashley America, and Karen Yu on June 6, 2015, at VPW Upper Limits 2015. Addams won the title at the end of the match.

Queens of Combat (2015-2016)

Deonna made her Queens of Combat debut as a villain on November 29, 2015, losing to Candice LeRae in a four-way match against Heidi Lovelace and Barbi Hayden at Queens Of Combat 7.

Wrestling in the Northeast (2015-2017)

Purrazzo made her debut on November 13, 2015, at the NEW 20th Anniversary Show, partnering with Alexxis Nevaeh in a tag match won by Mandy Leon and Velvet Sky. Her next match was on December 12 at NEW Christmas In Tavenville, where she was defeated by Mandy Leon in a Santa’s Little Helper match officiated by Anthony Greene.

She faced Mandy Leon in a rematch on March 4, 2016, at Wrestlefest XX, but was defeated once more. Their feud continued in a series of mixed tag matches, beginning with NEW Retribution and ending with Spring Slam Tour: Schenectady, where Leon and her partner defeated Purrazzo and her tag partner Damian Adams in both matches.

Purrazzo defeated newcomer Maria Manic at Autumn Ambush on November 5. Her previous NEW feud with Mandy Leon was reignited after she defeated Leon at Autumn Rumble.

Purrazzo and Leon met again on April 23, 2017, at Spring Slam Pocono Sumit, where Leon avenged her previous defeat to Purrazzo. Purrazzo defeated Leon on the 26th of May at the Spring Slam Tour: Newburgh. Leon defeated Purrazzo in their final NEW match of 2017, which took place on June 9 at Zero Fear. Purrazzo wrestled her final NEW of 2017 on August 25 at Wrestling Under The Stars Tour: Pittsfield, where she defeated Karen Q.

Wrestling with nonstop action (2014, 2016-2017)

Purrazzo made her mainstream wrestling debut on Total Nonstop Action Wrestling on May 10th, losing a singles match against Brooke at Knockouts Knockdown II. Purrazzo returned to TNA at the One Night Only: Live PPV, where she was eliminated by Awesome Kong in the number one Contender’s Gauntlet Match. Purrazzo also competed at Knockouts Knockdown 2016 on March 17 and was defeated by Madison Rayne, despite Deonna’s villainous performance.

Purrazzo made a comeback as a heel during the TNA Tapings on January 7, 2017, in a match won by the returning Brooke. Deonna wrestled in a match won by Laurel Van Ness at the TNA Tapings on January 8.

WWE (2015-2016)

Purrazzo was defeated by Nia Jax on the November 11, 2015, episode of WWE’s NXT program. Purrazzo lost to Asuka on the November 19th episode of NXT due to the referee stopping the match.

Purrazzo competed in a Battle Royal for the Number One Contender to the NXT Women’s Championship on the January 7, 2016 episode of NXT, where she and challengers Alexa Bliss, Aliyah, Asuka, Billie Kay, Cameron, Emma, Eva Marie, Liv Morgan, and Peyton Royce were defeated by Carmella.

Purrazzo wrestled in a match won by Asuka on January 22. The following week, on January 27, she was defeated in singles action by Emma. Purrazzo was defeated by the powerhouse Nia Jax on April 22. Her final NXT match of 2016 was on June 9th, when she was defeated by NXT fan favorite Bayley.

Purrazzo was scheduled to compete in a match against SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss on the December 13 episode of WWE Smackdown, but she was attacked by Bliss before the match began and was replaced by Becky Lynch.

Purrazzo turned heel and returned as La Luchadora on the December 27 episode of SmackDown to assist Bliss in retaining the title against Lynch. The evil Purrazzo competed as La Luchadora in a losing effort against Lynch the following week and then joined Bliss in attacking Lynch after the match.

Wrestling Association of the East Coast (2015-2017)

Purrazzo’s debut match was also a title match for the ECWA Women’s Championship held by Renee Michelle on June 20, 2015, at ECWA Raising The Bar IV. Her first ECWA singles victory came on June 27th, when she defeated Ashley America at Summer Sizzler. Purrazzo competed in the 2nd Annual Super 8 ChickFight Tournament on October 17, defeating Miranda Vionette in the Quarter Finals.

During the Semi-Finals, Deonna Purrazzo eliminated Brittany Blake. She defeated Tessa Blanchard in the Tournament Final to become the new ECWA Women’s Champion. Purrazzo successfully defended his title against Terra Calaway on November 21 at ECWA 4 Life.

On December 5, at ECWA Toys For Tots IV, she successfully defended her title for the second time, defeating former Women’s Champion Renee Michelle. Purrazzo maintained her title reign throughout 2016, including retaining it at the conclusion of the 3rd Annual Super 8 ChickFight Tournament, where she defeated Tournament winner Karen Q. Purrazzo defeated Karen Q in a title rematch on December 3 at ECWA Toys For Tots V.

Purrazzo’s title reign came to an end on October 21, 2017, at the 4th Annual Super 8 ChickFight Tournament, when she was defeated in a Three-Way title match by Karen Q. On November 25, she lost her title rematch against Karen Q at ECWA High Stakes.

SHIMMER Female Athletes (2017-2018)

Purrazzo made her SHIMMER debut on July 8, 2017, defeating Cherry Bomb at SHIMMER Volume 92. She competed in her second singles match at SHIMMER Volume 93, losing to Hudson Envy. She wrestled in Volumes 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, and 99.

Purrazzo and Ashley Lane, as Team Hottest Free Agents, challenged Totally Tubular Tag Team for the SHIMMER Tag Team Championship at Volume 98 on November 12. (Delilah Doom & Leva Bates).

Purrazzo returned the following year, on April 7, 2018, at Volume 100, losing to the Madison Eagles. Purrazzo defeated the Eagles in a rematch with Submission-Only rules seven days later on April 14 at SHIMMER Women Athletes Volume 101. Purrazzo’s final match at Volume 102 was for the SHIMMER Championship, which she lost to defending champion Nicole Savoy.

The Ring of Honor (2015-2018)

Deonna Purrazzo made his debut on July 25, 2015, in a dark match that Mandy Leon won. Purrazzo teamed with Hania The Howling Huntress in a tag match won by Mandy Leon & Sumie Sakai on December 19, 2015.

Deonna Purrazzo made a comeback on April 1, 2016, at ROH Supercard Of Honor X, where she and Amber Gallows were defeated in a tag match by Mandy Leon and Solo Darling. Purrazzo teamed with Amber Gallows and Kennadi Brink in a three-on-three tag match against Faye Jackson, Solo Darling, and Sumie Sakai on July 8 at ROH Women Of Honor.

Purrazzo was defeated in a dark match by Taeler Hendrix on August 27 at ROH Field Of Honor. Purrazzo teamed with her rival Mandy Leon in a tag match won by Jessicka Havok and Taeler Hendrix on September 17 at the ROH Reloaded Tour. Purrazzo defeated Candice LeRae at ROH on October 19. She defeated Sumie Sakai in her final ROH match of 2016, which took place on December 4 at ROH Best Of 2016.

Purrazzo wrestled primarily in dark matches in the early months of 2017, beginning on April 1 at ROH Supercard Of Honor XI, where he was defeated in a singles match against Kelly Klein. Purrazzo defeated Faye Jackson, Jenny Rose, and Mandy Leon in a Four Corner Survival match on April 8.

Purrazzo teamed with Mandy Leon in a tag match won by Kris Wolf & Sumie Sakai on June 23 at ROH Best In The World 2017. She wrestled a three-way match against Karen Q and Kelly Klein on June 24th’s ROH TV tapings. She spent the rest of her ROH year competing in dark matches.

Purrazzo returned the following year for an episode of ROH on January 20, 2018. She defeated Jenny Rose and Sumie Sakai in a dark tag match with Mandy Leon.

Purrazzo competed in an unaired first-round match in the ROH Women Of Honor Championship Tournament on February 9 at the 2018 Honor Reigns Supreme event. She advanced after defeating Holidead in the first round. Purrazzo was eliminated in the quarter-finals of ROH on March 31 by Mayu Iwatani.

Purrazzo’s final match was on the June 9 episode of ROH, where he was defeated by Kelly Klein.

Deonna Purrazzo Return to the WWE (2017-2020)

Deonna made a surprise appearance at the first annual WWE Mae Young Classic, teaming up with Jessica James to defeat Barbi Hayden and Nicole Matthews in a dark tag match.

Deonna Purrazzo returned to the second annual Mae Young Classic on August 8, 2018. Deonna advanced in the first round of the tournament on the first night after defeating Priscilla Kelly. She advanced to the second round the following night after defeating Xia Li. She was later eliminated in the quarterfinals of the August 9 Mae Young Classic Tapings by Io Shirai.

RAW (2019-2020)

Deonna made her debut on Monday Night RAW on December 16, losing a singles match to Asuka. She made her return in 2020 on the April 6 episode of Monday Night RAW, losing to Nia Jax.

NXT (2018-2020)

Deonna Purrazzo returned to NXT after signing with WWE, losing a match to Bianca Belair at the August 16 house show. She returned for the next day’s house show, teaming up with Dakota Kai to defeat Bianca Belair and Lacey Evans in a tag match.

Her first televised match since her return was on the August 18 episode of NXT, where she was defeated in a rematch by Bianca Belair. Deonna and Dakota Kai competed in a tag match against Aliyah and Lacey Evans on the following week’s episode, August 23.

During the August 25 house show, Deonna competed in a tag match with Io Shirai and Kairi Sane, but they were defeated by an all-ex-MMA team of Jessamyn Duke, Marina Shafir, and Shayna Baszler.

Deonna Purrazzo wrestled at NXT live events throughout 2019. Deonna lost the NXT Women’s Championship to Shayna Baszler on June 14 during the third night of the 2019 NXT At Download event. In 2020, she made her televised NXT UK debut on the April 30 episode, where she lost a title match for Toni Storm’s NXT UK Women’s Championship.

Deonna wrestled her final NXT matches in April, which included qualifying for the Number One Contendership to the NXT Women’s title.

Deonna Purrazzo returned to iMPACT! on June 23 after being released by WWE, defeating Alisha Edwards in a singles match.
