Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim’s relationship is relocating to Splitsville.
Oppenheim revealed on his Instagram Stories Tuesday that the “Selling Sunset” stars, who made their romance Instagram-official five months ago, are no longer dating but “continue to have the utmost respect for one another.”
“We’re still best friends, and we’ll always love and support each other,” he added.
Oppenheim described Stause as “the most amazing girlfriend I’ve ever had,” and their relationship as “the happiest and most fulfilling relationship of my life,” but he added that they “have different wants regarding a family.”
“Chrishell is an exceptional human being,” he continued, “and loving her and having her in my life is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.”
Stause responded to their split in a statement posted on her Instagram later that day.
“Jason was and is my best friend, and aside from our ideas about family ultimately not aligning, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change in the future,” she wrote. “Men have time that women don’t, and that’s just the way it is.”
She continued, saying: “I aspire to have a family one day, and all of my decisions are made with that goal in mind. Thank you for your compassion and support for those who understand. And thank you, Jason, for the most amazing relationship and for always being honest with me, even when it hurts.”
On July 28, the coworkers announced their relationship with a series of cosy vacation photos taken in Capri, Italy, and posted on Stause’s Instagram.
Oppenheim’s arm is wrapped around Stause’s neck in one photo, and he plants a kiss on her neck in another. Oppenheim is Stause’s boss at The Oppenheim Group, the Los Angeles real estate firm that is the subject of the Netflix reality series.
“The JLo effect,” Stause captioned the photos, a clear reference to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s recent Capri vacation. Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance after Lopez divorced ex-fiance, Alex Rodriguez, earlier this year.
“Chrishell and I became close friends, and it has evolved into an amazing relationship,” Oppenheim, 44, said at the time. “I adore her, and we are very happy together.”
From 2017 to 2021, Stause, 40, was married to “This Is Us” star Justin Hartley, 44. Season 3 of “Selling Sunset” documented their unexpected split. Stause claimed Hartley texted her to inform her that he had filed for divorce. On New Year’s Eve, Hartley made his relationship with actress Sofia Pernas Instagram official.
Stause and Oppenheim’s romance has been teased as a topic for Season 5 of “Selling Sunset,” which has wrapped but has not yet been released. Season 4 of Stranger Things premiered on Netflix in November.
