Early and Acting Life of Aditi Pohankar
Aditi Pohankar was born on 31st December 1994 in Mumbai. Aditi did her schooling at St. John School Mumbai and later completed her graduation from the University of Mumbai. Aditi also has a sister named Nivedita, and she is a writer in Prithvi theatre.
She is an Indian actress who has worked in the Hindi, Marathi, and Tamil film industries. After making her acting debut with LSD in 2010, she achieved a breakthrough with her role opposite Ritesh Deshmukh in Lai Bhaari in 2014.
Aditi Pohankar’s father’s name is Sudhir Pohankar, and her mother’s name is Shobha Pohankar. Her father is a former marathon runner and a Marathi stage artist, while her mother is a former national-level hockey player. Her grandmother Sushila Pohankar was a classical singer, while classical singer Pt. Ajay Pohankar is her uncle. Abhijeet Pohankar, who is a classical instrument player, is her cousin.
She attended the acting workshop of renowned theatre director Satyadev Dubey. She was later advised to undergo acting training under Bollywood actor-director Makarand Deshpande. She auditioned for various Hindi films and was then selected to play a cameo role in Love Sex Aur Dhoka. When she started shooting for the movie, she was only 15 years old. In 2011, she worked with famous Indian actor Ashok Saraf, Poonam Dhillon in a Marathi film called Kunasathi Kunitari.
She started her south Indian movie acting journey in 2017 with the Tamil movie Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum, in which her costars were Atharvaa, Pranitha Subash, Aishwarya Rajesh.
In 2020 she made her debut in web series with Netflix SHE, where she appeared as an undercover police officer. The show was written and created by Imtiaz Ali.
She has also worked in many Ads like Cadbury, Godrej, Airtel, Lenskart, Samsung, etc. Aditi is an animal lover, and she has a pet cat. Aditi is not married yet, nor is she dating anyone currently. In her school days, she was also an athlete like her father and used to participate in 100 and 200-meter sprinting competitions. She also auditioned for Amir Khan starer Dangal and was on the final list but eventually did not get the role. She has also auditioned for Prakash Jha’s movie Jai Gangajal starring Priyanka Chopra.
