Lockdown In Odisha extended Upto 1st June

Lockdown in Odisha has increased beyond 19th May. The state government has extended the lockdown period to June 1 in Odisha as the incidence of Covid cases rises. Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra announced this in a press release.

Odisha government imposed a lockdown from May 5 to May 19 as the coronavirus infection was rising. The government has taken steps to give a break in the infection chain. There was a strict check at this time. Shops, markets, shopping malls, bus service, local transport service, bars, wine shops, restaurants etc., were closed. Only vegetables and grocery stores were allowed to be open from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. Employees who provide emergency services and services were excluded from the restriction.

Home delivery of food was also allowed during this period by the delivery agents. online shopping platforms like Amazon and Flipkart delivery agents were allowed to deliver goods.

But now, according to the new guidelines, people can go out from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. to buy vegetables and other groceries.

Despite this, the infection has not diminished. There are still more than 10,000 cases of daily infections. 10321 new cases were reported in Odisha on 17th May, 10757 new cases of Covid positives were recorded in the state on 16th May, and 11732 new cases were registered on 15th May according to Information & Public Relations Dept. Govt. of Odisha.

Keeping that in mind, the government has extended Lockdown’s term. According to the new decision, Lockdown is for 13 days. In addition, it has been extended to 5 a.m. on June 1.

Notably, many states have already extended the duration of the lockdown. For example, the states of West Bengal, Delhi and Bihar have also extended the lockdown deadline.

Marriages are now permitted with only 25 people, which was 50 people previously. You have to take permission before the marriage ceremony, and also, food arrangements at the marriage ceremony have been barred.
