Yusuf Pathan’s Journey

Yusuf Pathan is one name whose childhood went through a lot of poverty. But he never stopped playing cricket because of it. He and his younger brother Irfan Pathan were both cricket lovers, and their father knew this. And he never stopped both sons from playing cricket. Yusuf Pathan started his career when Sehwag could not play in the 2007 T20 World Cup finals, and then he got a chance to replace Sehwag and that too as an opener. Although Yusuf Pathan could not make a massive score, the six that he hit Mohammad Asif bowling had told the world that there is so much talent inside Yusuf Pathan.

In 2010, Yusuf gave India a lone victory against New Zealand by chasing 316 runs. In the same year, in the IPL, Yusuf Pathan scored the fastest century in IPL by scoring 100 runs in 37 balls. However, the record was broken by Chris Gayle in the next year. Yusuf Pathan was also included in the 2011 World Cup after a brilliant performance in the IPL. In the 2011 World Cup, he did not play many matches. However, people still remember Yusuf Pathan Carrying Sachin Tendulkar on his shoulder and circling the entire stadium after winning the World Cup.

Yusuf played his last international match in 2012, after which he never got a chance to play for Team India. But he continued to play IPL and continued to perform well. Yusuf Pathan has played all ODIs and T20s for India, and the funny thing is that his strike rate is more than 100 in every format.

As aggressive Batsman Yusuf was on the field, he was equally soft spoken outside the field. Yusuf is fond of horse riding.
