Ahmedabad: England captain Eion Morgan decided to bowl first after winning the toss in the third T20I. India batted first in the third T20I match and lost 6 wickets for 156 runs in their 20 overs. The England bowling started right on target from ball one. India lost the first T20 but won the second T20 at the same venue.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, the two Indian openers who came in to bat first, were out cheaply. KL Rahul failed again to open his account and was clean bowled by Mark Wood. In the last three matches, Rahul has scored 1,0 and 0. The debutant Surya Kumar Yadav who played the last match (second T20) but did not get a chance to bat, was excluded from the playing eleven today.
Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, started well but was not able to score big. He played 17 balls and scored 15 runs with two fours; he also got out to Mark Wood. Ishan Kishan, the hero of the second T20, failed this time. Chris Jordan took the wicket of Ishan Kishan. Kohli, who came in to bat at No. 4, remained unbeaten at 77. Rishabh Pant was run out while trying to take almost an impossible run at a personal score of 25 off 20 balls with three fours. Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for six. Hardik Pandya was dismissed for 17 off 15 balls with two sixes.
Mark Wood bowled brilliantly for England. He bowled 4 overs and took 3 wickets for 31 runs. Similarly, Chris Jordan took 2 wickets for 35 runs in 4 overs. Adil Rashid conceded 26 runs in his 4 overs, Jofra Archer conceded 32 runs in 4 overs.
In reply, in the last two matches’ highest scorer for England, Jason Roy was sent to the pavilion cheaply, but his partner Butler kept the onslaught going. Butler completed his half-century in just 26 deliveries with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Butlers scored 83 runs, and Johny Bairstow scored 40 runs and remained unbeaten till the end.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sunder took one wicket each. England won the third T20I with 8 wickets in hand and ten balls to spare. England has now taken the lead of 2-1 in the five-match T20 series. These matches are also crucial in the run of the T20I world cup, which is scheduled to be played in October in India.
The next match is on 18th March, Thursday at the same venue. India has to win the match to remain alive in the series, and England will look forward to winning the match and seal the series.
